UPDATE January 28, 2011The film is so close very to completed and ready to show but I am not quite done yet. I'm working on some animations (thank you Little Fluffy Clouds) and the plan is to finish up by spring. I will definitely post to the website and let everyone know when it's done. Also, I am maintaining a list of people who have contacted me about seeing the film. The 88 minute film is both thoughtful and engaging and will undoubtedly capture broad interest and attention. UPDATE April 2010Over the past few months I have received many emails and calls wanting to know the status of the film. Honestly, at this point I am close, perhaps a few more months and it will be done. What started out years ago as an idea for a documentary, turned into a massive project. I shot interviews with more that 80 respected industry leaders over three years and delved into more than 70 topics. Without any substancial support, I have made this film pretty much on my own (other than with the help of my cameraman). And dispite working on the film every day for the past year, editing has been a slow process. I have worked the 120 hours of footage and massaged the 70 topics into a tight story that outlines the possibilities of radical future technoligies and shows how we get from here to there. At this point, I have a cut that's just over 4 hours. Over the next couple of months I will edit the film down to 100 minutes and help the story be told visually. The plan is to be done by the end of the summer and ready for submission to winter festivals such as Berlin and Sundance. I know you are anxious to see the film: I am anxious to complete it and get the film out in the world. Hang tight, it's really coming soon. Doug Wolens
